“If you think you are too small, try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room”
– Anita Roddick
The world is at our finger tips. We can access almost anything through devices we carry in our pockets or even wear on our wrist. As anything, this concept has its pros and cons, but this also means that you have the opportunity to reach a bigger audience. A personal/business website provides a platform for you to do that and more. It can be a place for you to put your thoughts and ideas. It can be a way to inform people. It can be a way for you to display your hard work. It can be a tool to help you generate an income. It is a way to give people (strangers) hope. LivingAmped.com‘s purpose is all of these things to me. Think you are too small to make a difference (see quote above)? Are you thinking, “why do I need a site, who would possibly care what I have to say (or what I do…)”. I promise you, many do. My posts about my cancer journey get a hit EVERY DAY!! That means that I give hope to someone EVERY DAY! To me, building something that can in turn help someone is some way form or fashion is totally worth it to me! Don’t be afraid to put your ideas, thoughts, journeys out there…people want to know about you and your experiences. So lets get started!
Building a website is not as complicated as you think…its actually way easier (slightly addicting)…you don’t even have to know code (I don’t). Like the idea of having a site but don’t know where to start? No worries, I’m going to walk you through every step (screen shots included) to help you build a website for you to share whats going on in your life (personal or to help grow a business) and in turn possibly impact another’s.
We are going to take this step by step as I build a new site I’m working on. I would suggest doing these steps in order as one builds off the other. Each task below is a link to a separate post that explains the “why” and “how” in very detailed instructions. Warning…this could get addicting…in a good way.

If you are like me you run on a budget. Below is what it cost me to make this site (totally worth it). I made it so I know how it operates and where to go to change things. This means that if I want to change something at 5am I do it, I don’t have to contact my web designer and wait for them to do it…I CAN DO IT!!
Bluehost – $95.27 = $83.28/12mths (hosting and could be cheaper monthly if I went with a longer plan) + $11.99 (because I changed my website URL the day after I set up my account, normally this isn’t a thing)
Elegante Themes = $89 (You can always use a free or cheaper theme which means this cost could technically be eliminated)
Total = $184.27
