StuffedPeppersEasy Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage (we use spicy Italian)
  • 1/2 C. uncooked rice
  • 1 C. water
  • 4 peppers (color is up to you)
  • 16 oz tomato sauce, divided
  • 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 t. garlic powder
  • 1/4 t. onion powder
  • 1-1/2 t. Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Slice the tops off of your peppers. Scrape out the seeds and discard along with the tops.
  2. Cook your rice in a rice cooker with the water.*
  3. Brown the sausage. Drain any excess liquid.
  4. Combine the sausage, rice, half of the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large bowl. Stir to combine. Fill each of your peppers with heaping amounts of your mixture.
  5. In a small bowl stir together the remaining tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Generously spoon over each pepper. It’s ok if some spills over the side.
  6. Cover with tin foil and bake for 45 minutes or until your peppers are tender.
