Crossfit Central does WONDERS for helping coaches and athletes set AND reach their goals. As coaches we were asked to write our Purpose Statement. Here is mine.
I pledge myself to making a profound impact to others lives.
I promise to lead by example.
I want to be held accountable for my actions.
I am dedicated to my career in fitness.
My solid belief system and moral values will serve as a good stable base for which ever road I take.
I will make a consistent effort towards self improvement.
I am an ambassador for fitness.
While these words/sentences might not mean anything to you but they mean alot to me. They are my purpose. I found words that stood out to me and I wanted to live by and used them to create this purpose. I have posted these in many places that I look at daily. I ask that you hold me accountable to this. Have you ever asked yourself what is your purpose?
On Aug. 21st Crossfit Central held its 2nd anual Women’s Challenge! This was so much fun! As As you can tell from this first picture the event was a HUGE success as well! The ladies were in teams of 3. This event was composed of 2 different workouts: WOD 1 The Run and WOD 2 10,000lb Chipper. 🙂 Congrats to the SicFit Stunnas who took first place!!
Well here is a recap of WOD #2 of the Crossfit Katy Bring On The Heat Competition on Aug. 14th. This one was interesting. It was in a parking lot, in Katy, in the middle of the afternoon. It was HOTT!! I’m not kidding! However this box did all that it could to keep everything cool. The workout was: 15 – 12- 9 clean n jerk at 85lbs followed by a 230m 50lb sandbag carry. Meaning you did 15 c&j, ran, 12 c&j, ran, 9 c&j ran. My goal was unbroken c&j and honestly I was successful! The judges were SUPER nice and helpful! They all kept me motivated and pushed me to do my best! This is why I was able to call time at 7min flat…the fastest time of that workout that day! I impressed myself on that one. I think clean and jerks are my new favorite lift!!!
Of course there was celebration post workout. However, we sweated so much we had to go to Academy and purchase new clothes to change into so we could attened the post party. The post party was so much fun. We got to visit with other crossfitters from other boxes as well as get to know some of the Katy people better. Needless to say we slept good that night! Over all this competition was ran flawless and the judges/support/people/venue were amazing. I would for sure without a doubt return to their box for an event! Well done Crossfit Katy!!
On Aug. 13th I travled to Houston to stay at my family’s casa so I could compete in Crossfit Katy’s Bring On The Heat Competition that was held at their box in Katy, Tx. I met my buddy Clayton Manzer at my family’s casa and then we took his new jeep to go get our packets, as well as some food for the next day. After packet pick up we came back home and cooked an amazing paleo dinner for my family. Well he cooked because we all know I cannot. Since my family is pretty sick of hearing me talk about crossfit, they drilled Clay. Clay did wonderful! He talked about his AMAZING experience with crossfit and how it benefited him. My fam was hooked!!!
We got up early the next morning and drove to the box so we could secure our parking spot. Thanks to Clay’s new “whip” we parked in the grass close to the platforms. His box, Crossfit Beaumont then joined us with tents and more chairs. They are a great group and welcomed me with opened arms and allowed me to hang out with them between heats as well as cheered for me when I was lifting. In addition to that cheering section, I had my Dad, Aunt, Uncle, Clay and my friend Tony who came in to watch. I’m secretly trying to all of them involved in crossfit with a box close to them.
The scaled workout started at 8am-ish and the standard started at 10. I was in heat 3 of 7 of the Standard. Clay was in heat 2 of the Standard male. WOD #1 went as follow with a 12min cut off:
250m row 12 box jumps 8 deadlift 185#
I thought the workout went really well EXCEPT the part when I pentalized for the handle flying out the the rack. This made me do 5 burpees. I coasted in the last 10m of the row and sat there conserving energy. When I released the handle BAM it went flying into the wheel. The judge said 5 burpees and I began them without even thinking about arguing. I finished in 8min and I think 24 seconds? I’m not 100% sure. This box was small but they made everyone fit and as the lifter I had a fan on me so there were no worries.
Thank you Tony for filming my workout, creating a Youtube account for me and uploading the clip. I don’t care that I have to turn my head to watch it! You are awesome and everyone needs a friend like Tony!
I just wanted to share with anyone who would listen how awesome my week has been thus far! Clients are back in town, which makes my job more fun…energy level is sky high with clients/classes…my organization/planning/preparation of my meals have already paid off amazingly and I got a new lulu outfit for this weekends competition at Crossfit Katy (okay, so maybe that one was negative for the checking acct, LOL) and I get to spend the weekend with family and friends! I could go on and on but I will stop there! 🙂
I have really enjoyed doing a workout saluting the start of football season (when football is in season, things especially in Texas just seem right)! Even though many dislike burpees they get a kick out of doing the following workout:
# of days till Longhorn Football = # of burpees to be done 🙂
Football started on 8-8-10…Dallas vs. Cinn 17-6 (correct me if I’m wrong)
6 rounds (for the score…17 is just really long)
8 lunges on Left leg (August is the 8th month)
8 lunges on Right Leg (it was the 8th day in August)
10 squats (year)Not only has football season started…Monica Brant with Austin Fit Magazine showed up camera crew and all and did my FREE Monday 5:30-6:30pm Core Class at Jack and Adams. I’m assuming this was part of the Kick Mo’s Butt section in the magazine but who knows. All I know is she showed up with camreas at MY class. I was so excited…I got in my car after the class and attempted to call lots of people to tell someone, but no one answered so I left lots of messages 🙂 If the article gets published TRUST ME you will know! LOL!
I hope your week is going half as good as mine!!! #LovinLife #GodIsGood
