TurkeyBarI was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time…as well as coach elements to the right person! One of my elements athletes, now a crossfit athlete brought a box of these “Epic Bars” to try out. I told him I had heard of them and was eager to try them, so he gave me one of every flavor (score!)! Having heard how good they were, I saved them till I could enjoy it (versus scarfing it down between clases). I tried the turkey one first and OMGoodnes, it was amazing! It was like a moist jerky, but still dry. I could taste the almond and cranberries in it too! I saved the other 2 for a hike, which is when I really rely on bars for nutrition, especially ones that can withstand heat and won’t melt! On my hike, and being the fan of bison and nervous for the “habanero”, I went for that one and shared the beef one.  It took everything I had not to scarf down the bison one. I was even lucky enough to get a few bites off the shared beef one as well and it wasn’t spicy at all. To be honest with you, I don’t hink I have a favorite, they were all good! See my ratings below:

Taste: YUM!! (5/5)

Price: I was lucky enough to get mine for free, however according to their website you can get 3 bars for $8.50 which is about $2.83/bar not including shipping, however rumor has it, you can get them at whole foods! (4/5)

Nutrition: Not to bad: Bison has 200kcal/12g fat/10carb/11gpro (4/5…I want more pro)

Convient: Mine was given to me so that was easy, however I haven’t been able to find them except at whole foods, however I think they are still new to the market and you will be able to find them in your local health food stores. (2/5)

Overall: I think they would be a great purchase! I will be taking these hiking/camping with me especially because they can withstand heat and won’t melt. (4/5)
