Purelytwins recipe: {raw} homemade low-sugar smores with chocolate sauce

makes 6 cookies; makes 3 s’mores sandwiches

Ingredients:

S’mores cookies~

  • 1/2 cup (2oz) – walnut halves
  • 1/2 cup (1 3/4oz) – finely shredded coconut flakes
  • 3 tablespoons (1oz) – mesquite flour (can use nut meal, carob, or cocoa)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon flax meal
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon yacon syrup or molasses (or could do maple syrup)
  • pinch sea salt

Marshmallow filling~

one recipe of our stevia based marshmallows or any marshmallow recipe or pre-made you like

Chocolate sauce:

  • few drops of stevia
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons raw cacao powder (cocoa powder is fine)
  • 4 tablespoons coconut oil, liquid
  • 1-2 tablespoons water

Directions:

  1. Make the marshmallows first. Follow the directions from the original recipe and set marshmallows to the side as you make the cookies. We recommend letting the marshmallows set for a few hours before cutting.
  2. Gather your s’more cookies ingredients together.
  3. Once cookies batter comes together, carefully roll out on a parchment paper. Grab a circle cookie cutter and start cutting out the cookies. We got 6 cookies. * Size and amount will vary depending on the size cookie cutter you use.
  4. We dehydrated our cookies at 110 degrees for about 6-8 hours. You do not have to do this part, you can place cookies in a 200 degree oven for about 3-4 hours. This part helps set the cookies.
  5. Once cookies are done set to the side to cool.
  6. Next grab your marshmallows and start cutting them into circles using the same circle cookie cutters.
  7. Next time to make the chocolate sauce for the topping.
  8. Place all your chocolate sauce ingredients into a glass bowl.  Begin to stir. Continue to stir until it is all mixed together.
  9. Build your cookie s’more cookies with marshmallows in the middle. Top with chocolate sauce.

BaseCamp

BaseCamp

BaseCamp by Living Amped

I’m very excited about our launch of BaseCamp! BaseCamp was created for a variety of reasons. I wanted to give my current athletes crossfitters AND non-crossfit a place to start and/or restart a fitness program. Everything is a “combo” of what my crossfit as well as my non crossfit athletes have been looking/asking for. Basecamp focuses on 3 different parts:

Nutrition: Here we will use advocare products as well as a list of foods that I have created that help you focus on the quality of food vs quantity (quantity is in “Summit Squad”). Since I know alot of people don’t like the “set” 24 day challenge, once you register you will be sent a form to allow you to customize your challenge. If you want cherry spark vs the mandarin orange it comes with, we can make that happen. If you want the peaches and cream herbal cleanse, we can make that happen (I’m not a fan of the citrus one).

Fitness: There is 16 different BODY WEIGHT only workouts (4/wk) with an option of 3 different levels at each workout; you pick which workout you want to when as well as what level you want to work at. I kept it at body weight because it allowed those who travel to participate. These are also done on your own time, so if one day morning works best for you go for it, if even works best for you another day, go for it! It works with your schedule!

Community: Well all know having a community (or just an accountability partner) does wonders! There will be a members only facebook page as well as a time where we can all chat using google plus hangouts. This will allow for more of a conversation vs just messaging.

Then of course my favorite part…celebration! I have paired up with Rabah Rahil Photography to take the “after” photos (something many people were wanting). If you dedicated yourself to a 24 day challenge I wanted y’all to be able to show off your results!! Rabah has agreed to take the after photos…I’m thinking fun, movements, barbells, kettlebells, body weight kinda stuff. NOT just front and side views! Your journey starts Sept. 3rd (Day after Labor Day) and ends Friday Sept 27th! We are only taking 24 participants and with registration closing in the next 4 days, make sure to reserve your spot ASAP!

BaseCamp is open to athletes near and far, if you know someone who needs a place to start or a re-start on building a solid foundation for a healthy lifestyle, don’t hesitate to share this program with them.

Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have! Looking forward helping you create the life you desire! BaseCamp@LivingAmped.com
