We are in the middle of football and tailgating season, which means we are surrounded by lots of good food–some healthy and some not so healthy. Below is a quick and nutritious dip to bring with you to your next tailgate, party, or to simply change up a meal at home.
7 Layer Dip
Ingredients:
- Layer 1: 1lb ground beef, cooked, plus a taco seasoning packet
(I use Trader Joe’s seasoning packet) - Layer 2: 1 1/2 cups of green onions, chopped
- Layer 3: 3 tomatoes, diced and seasoned with salt & pepper
- Layer 4: 1 cup nopolitos (tender cactus), drained & diced.
(I find these in a jar) - Layer 5: 2 cups of guacamole
- Layer 6: 1- 5.75oz jumbo can of sliced olives
- Layer 7: 1 pound of bacon, cooked crispy & chopped
- Garnish (optional) with 1 bunch of chopped cilantro & squeezed lime
Directions:
Layer the levels. Place in a large serving spoon for serving. On a separate plate,
serve with Bibb lettuce or homemade sweet potato and/or beet fries. ENJOY!
