We are through 13.4 wooo hooo! This one was interesting….and the same pattern as last year. On a GREAT note we escaped pull ups 1 more week…however I don’t think we are going to get that lucky in 13.5. Since I was going to be traveling to AR this past weekend (Kim’s Wedding), I decided to jump into a CC class and perform the WOD. Brittany Mac and I jumped into Zac’s 11:15am class. I was really excited about this because 1 of my current Relentless athletes and 1 of my old Relentless Athletes both who just went through the I AM Relentless Challenge were in there! I was going to get to do the WOD along side them! Not to mention my mom was in town so she was going to get to be there. When I got to CC, I walked out to find out DJ K2 was set up to DJ for us…something I REALLY enjoy about our Friday WODs…not all gyms get to have a live  (bad a$$) DJ at their open WODs. He does a great job at setting the energy level…let me tell you it is on high when he is there! Good Stuff!

We warmed up and then went straight to work. For those that don’t know, 13.4 went as follow:

Workout 13.4

7 minute AMRAP of:
3 Clean and jerk
3 Toes-to-bar
6 Clean and jerk
6 Toes-to-bar
9 Clean and jerk
9 Toes-to-bar
12 Clean and jerk
12 Toes-to-bar
15 Clean and jerk
15 Toes-to-bar
18 Clean and jerk
18 Toes-to-bar…
This is a timed workout. If you complete the round of 18, go on to 21. If you complete 21, go on to 24, etc.

Brittany and I paired up and she went 1st. Since 95# is SUPER light to her, she flew through it. I’m not the greatest at T2B so I  wasn’t really looking forward to those and refused to do 1 before I had too. For the Ground To Shoulder To Overhead I did sets of 3 and 6 unbroken, then the set of 9 was broken up in to 5 and 4. Then the rest were sets of 3. Toes to bar I just made them happen, not my strong point. I finished that day with a score of 90.

13.4

13.4T2B

Since I did it so early in the week/post announcement I wasn’t really sure if that was good or bad. HOWEVER, one of the COOLEST things that I found out on my drive to AR (thanks to social media) was while Nicole and Jonathan were taking pics of the class doing the WOD, they captured a GREAT shot of me and the athlete behind me doing the WOD. The lady behind me was VERY new to crossfit…in fact it was her first day at crossfit. This just goes to show that a games competitor AND a 1st timer can workout together on the same black top in the same class and BOTH get benefits. This is such a powerful statement. I’m EXTREMELY glad I got to be part of this visual and to show this “concept” (for lack of a better word).

13.4 New Person

Through my drive to AR I checked social media frequently. Still not knowing how 90 ranked. I looked at the website of Crossfit Little Rock, the box I contacted to drop into. I saw they were doing the WOD again in their Friday morning class. To do or not to do it again. If I was going to redo it, that was my chance. The rest of the weekend was filled with wedding activities. I saw on their website that they had posted the video of Winchester interviewing Rudy in Phase 2. I took a screen shot of this and posted it on my instagram acct. It was there, one of my friends and followers connected me with 2 coaches of CFLR. After some comments back and forth, I made some new friends and was possibly going to get to meet them and WOD with them tomorrow! They had to be legit right? And they were! Adele and Josh were fantastic people.

Mom and I arrived at CF LR at 7:30am, class started at 8am. When we got in, we bought shirts and were good to go. I met Adele and Josh shortly after filling out waivers and we headed into their AWESOME space to warm up. They have a LARGE amount of space. I convinced Adele that she needed to do 13.4 and I was going to judge her. She did awesome and has GREAT T2B! She also follows Outlaw so we spoke alot of the same language. She did AWESOME on the WOD, then it was my turn. I followed the same rep scheme as I did when I did it earlier however my T2B were better and my bar movements were more fluid. I finished with a score of 95! SOLD!

CFLR Group

The crew of CFLR was awesome and VERY welcoming! I had a great time visiting with them and enjoyed working out with them. When looking for a breakfast place, they suggested this little cafe down the street called “Root”. Mom and I said our goodbye and headed to Root for breakfast. Shortly after placing our order, Adele and Josh showed up so we got to visit with them some more which was great! This is another thing I LOVE about the crossfit Community! Its like an instant family! If you are in Little Rock, I highly recommend dropping into their box!
